Last weekend during my spring break, I was able to take a quick trip to Las Vegas with some of my bridesmaids for my bachelorette party! After a long week of reorienting myself to what’s going on in my classes, prepping for a midterm, and praying to make it to the weekend to (hopefully) catch up on sleep, I’m excited to share more about our fun trip!
My Co-Maid-of-Honor, Tyler, was so generous to plan this weekend for me and the other bridesmaids. After Aaron and I had to postpone our wedding last year, it was so fun to finally feel like I finally had the opportunity to celebrate with my closest friends.
Welcome Gifts
To thank my bridesmaids for coming to celebrate with me, I wanted to get each girl a little gift to give them once they arrived. I found the perfect customizable Las Vegas-themed bags on Etsy, and I couldn’t resist. For the contents, I went with a “survival kit” theme and included anything I thought they might need for the weekend.
Weekend Highlights
We stayed in an Airbnb for the weekend that was about 10 minutes away from the strip. One of my favorite things about the weekend was actually the time we spent just hanging out in each other’s rooms at the house. My bridesmaids are from different parts of my life and they didn’t all know each other before the trip, so I loved getting to be with them all at once and having them get to know each other. Ty arranged to have a private chef make us brunch and late-night snacks each day, which was so convenient because if you know me… I’m the worst morning person!
On Friday night, a few of us went to Thunder From Down Under, which was SO FUN. I don’t know about you, but, in my mind, a male revue show like that is synonymous with the ultimate Las Vegas bachelorette party. Several friends and I are former dancers, so I’d be lying if I said we weren’t critiquing the dancing… but there were other things that made up for it, of course. I went all out by wearing a veil and bride-to-be sash, so I even got pulled up on stage (so I’d highly recommend dressing like you’re a bride-to-be whether you are or not). We had such a great time, but all I’ll say about that is I woke up the next day with no voice.
Shoutout to Aaron for being such a supportive fiancé.
On Saturday, we took a pole dancing class where we became “certified sexy,” and we all agreed that it was one of our highlights of the weekend. It was very low-pressure, and we all laughed and cheered each other on the whole time.
Later that night, we went out for sushi and then walked along the strip. The first time Aaron told me he loved me was while we were watching the Bellagio fountain show when we were on a weekend trip to Vegas. So when we got to the Bellagio, Aaron had asked one of my bridesmaids to surprise me with a rose during the fountain show for him. *Cue me tearing up because of how sweet and thoughtful Aaron is*
The weekend flew by way too fast, and it reminded me that I need more vacations with friends in my life!
